You will be taught how to select the perfect steak and learn the different types of cooking – blue, rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done, as well as the many different sauces that go with your perfect steak.


This two and a half-hour demo and practical class will teach all steak lovers how to cook the perfect steak for their tastes. We will teach you how to choose the right cut, prepare sauces, cook the steak and assemble the finished dish.

All courses are taught by our skilled chefs. Our school is positioned in Abinger Hammer, a delightful and picturesque village in the heart of the Surrey Hills. The school provides each student with a fully equipped kitchen and all necessary ingredients and equipment. We believe in hands-on, practical teaching – so be prepared to roll up your sleeves!

    Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jake for a fabulous Steak and Sauce course last night
    This is the first of 3 courses I am attending and I am excited for the next ones after the experience last night.
    Jake was a superb tutor and guided us expertly through the cooking process. I have never been able to cook a steak properly until last night and it was delicious. Thank you Jake for all the little hints and tips that made the food taste so good.

    My husband and I were given a gift of a steak and sauces cookery course by our Son which I was very excited to attend, hubby not so much.

    We went a few weeks ago and we had the best time with our chef Jake who was explained all the processes very simply and made us feel very comfortable. He made you feel as if you were the only person there which was rather special, even though there were around 10 of us.
    The sauces were delicious and we ate steak all evening so what’s not to like. Thank you for making my husband enjoy cooking, Yeah!
