Do you have a budding chef in your family? Then our half–day Children’s Cookery Class could be just the course for them.

Ignite your child’s passion for cooking.

This course is suited for children aged 7 and above.

Come and join us in the kitchen during the school holidays for a fun morning of cooking. Even if your child has yet to become a keen foodie, this class might be a great way to ignite their passion for cooking. Our half-day course promises to be hands-on, good fun and most of all yummy – you’ll pack a lot into the course and cook both sweet and savoury dishes.

Please note, this course is suited for children aged 7 and above. Children aged 7 – 13 must be supervised by a parent who is also participating in the course (therefore the cost would be £60 per child and £60 per adult). Children aged 14 and above will be able to attend the course on their own. Should you require any further information about the course please do contact the office.

Children’s Cookery Classes take place between 9am and 12.

All courses are taught by our skilled chefs. Our school is positioned in Abinger Hammer, a delightful and picturesque village in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Florence and I had a fantastic morning learning to cook handmade ravioli and raspberry soufflé. Jake takes just the right tone with the children, so patient and answering all questions! He explains every step so clearly, including how and why and what difference techniques make to the taste of the food – I learnt a lot as well! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the meal at the end of the lesson was exceptional! This is my 3rd visit to Abinger Cookering School and I cannot recommend it enough for great quality fun and time spent with your child!

My two children (13 and 9) had an amazing time at the children’s cooking class this morning. It was a step up from the usual children’s cooking style and helped them develop proper cooking and baking techniques. The food was amazing. The venue is lovely. The people are great. Shout out to the brilliant Jake. Thank you!

My 12 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the children’s cooking class this morning. David was friendly and patient and demonstrated the stages at the perfect pace for her to remember then put into practice. The menu was delicious (fish cakes with hollandaise and Berry cheesecake) and achievable with some great tips along the way such as basic knife skills. We will definitely be exploring some of the other classes on offer in the future.

My 12 year old daughter and I got this as a Christmas gift. The course was delayed because of covid but the school kept us up to date regarding rescheduling. It was a fantastic session and I would recommend it to anyone. Jake was a great teacher and gave us lots of advice. We made lovely fish cakes with poached eggs followed by raspberry cheesecakes. The pace of the lesson was good. We will definitely come back and do more courses in future.

My daughter and I have done a number of these courses now and they’re great.
Always a different menu and great fun!
A fab Christmas or Birthday present.

My son and I had a great morning learning to make pork pies and macarons, facilities were great well equipped and Cat was a great teacher.

My only comment would be that we were a bit stretched for space at times and had to keep moving things around.
