Are you a keen foodie and festival fanatic? Then you’ll be as excited as we are about Pub in the Park 2023!
Created by Tom Kerridge, an English Michelin-starred chef who’s best known for his three Marlow gastropubs and TV appearances, Pub in the Park is a hotspot for glorious British pub food and an eclectic mix of live music — and it’s back by popular demand across a whopping 10 locations this spring and summer.
We’re thrilled that Surrey has made it onto the list this year. Pub in the Park will be hitting Priory Park in Reigate between 23 and 25 June.
You know we love good food, and we can’t think of anything better than spending sunny days feasting on fresh dishes and sipping on frosty pints. Are we setting the scene?
With the biggest festival food menu in the UK, this is guaranteed to be a foodie experience you’ll never forget…
What’s on?
It’s not truly a festival without a non-stop, chart-topping line-up that makes you want to dance all weekend long — and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Pub in the Park 2023!
With something for everyone, Reigate will see top acts such as Bananarama, Soul II Soul Soundsystem, Example and Toploader over the long weekend.
As the name suggests, there’ll be plenty of drinks to try — because dancing is thirsty work, right? Everything from cocktails, mocktails and fizz to refreshing soft drinks and the best British beers will be available at the festival’s many bars.
Grab a tipple between sets and browse the shopping village and artisan market for some sweet treats for your loved ones or a unique trinket for yourself. We’re sure the weekend will be memorable, but there’s no harm in a little souvenir, and there’ll be plenty of indie businesses to choose from.
Now — let’s talk food…
We can’t reveal the festival’s delicious secrets yet (you’ll have to keep an eye on the Pub in the Park website and socials for menu announcements), but we can tell you who’ll be in Reigate cooking up a storm.
Alongside Tom Kerridge himself, expect to see a massive line-up of the hottest new names in the culinary world, some of your TV favourites and a selection of the industry’s top chefs creating dishes live on stage.
Matt Tebbutt, Jimi Famurewa, Leyla Kazim and Adam Purnell (aka Shropshire Lad) will be mixing it up on the Chef Demo stage, during the Firepit Sessions, in the festival’s ‘Bookshop’ and at their pop-up restaurants.
From tasty twists on pub food classics to exciting flavours from around the world, sample mouthwatering meals and get to know these stellar chefs better as they show off their flaming-hot skills across the festival.
Firing things up at the Firepit Stage
As if all that wasn’t enough reason to attend, we’re delighted to announce that one of our talented chefs, Jake, will also be demoing at the Firepit Stage!
Jake’s career in cooking began when he was 19, and since then, he’s enjoyed working in a broad range of settings — from bistros, fine-dining restaurants and high-end hotels to private catering and luxury yachts.
He’s now been working with us for several years, and as those of you who’ve attended our cooking classes will know, he’s passionate about cooking inventive and tasty plates of food (and he’s a whizz at it, too).
Want to sample some of his cooking for yourself? Jake will be at Pub in the Park on Saturday, 24 June, at the Firepit Stage, preparing some classics from our courses and giving a taste of everything The Abinger Cookery School has to offer.
